Getting A Referral

We are passionate about making all our homes a safe place for everyone, so there are one or two rules that we have found helpful in keeping everyone safe and sound.

A face-to-face interview and assessment are required before a place is offered to a potential resident. There is a zero-tolerance to drug-taking, possession of drug paraphernalia, inebriation, or bullying, intimidation, violence against staff or other residents, or possession of weapons of any kind. Any such behaviour will be seen as a breach of the licence agreement and will result in immediate removal from the project.

What do we provide? Who are we for?

Currently we have four projects, two in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, one women’s, one men’s. We have men’s projects in Chesterfield and Shirebrook, Derbyshire. We accept self-referrals and professional referrals and engage in a careful process of assessment on both sides, prior to admission.

Involvement in any faith-based activity is entirely optional and without any pressure or requirement.  Our projects have weekly services and daily devotions and a number of residents choose to be engaged in these activities.

We run four facilities which are drug and alcohol free and an understanding of this requirement is a key factor in admission assessments. Coming to live at Lighthouse sets the bar high for some of our residents and requires high levels of motivation to change long established patterns of drug and alcohol use.

We do not accommodate those with a history of, or current charges relating to, sexual offending or arson with intent to endanger life.

For a small number of residents, we will consider long term residence, as a place of safety and protection.
